2017 Toyota Corolla Trim Levels

The L

Performance Specs

As the base trim level of the 2017 Toyota Corolla, the L contains the standard powertrain found in most of its successors. This includes a 1.8L four-cylinder engine and continuously variable transmission with intelligence (CVT-i).

Together, these components can generate 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque, all while maintaining 36 mpg highway and 28 mpg city.1

All Corolla models are also outfitted with a front-wheel drivetrain.

Interior

Comfort is generously offered in the Corolla L with a six-way manually adjustable driver’s seat and four-way adjustable passenger’s seat, both trimmed in cloth. Manual air conditioning is also available for climate control.

Media

The L features an Entune™ audio bundle, which includes (but is not limited to):

  • Six speakers
  • A 6.1-inch touchscreen with rear backup camera
  • USB and auxiliary jacks
  • Bluetooth® wireless streaming
  • Siri® Eyes Free

Safety

In addition to its tremendously protective eight airbags, the Corolla includes two comprehensive safety systems. First, there is the Star Safety System™, which includes:

  • Vehicle stability and traction control
  • Electronic brakeforce distribution
  • Smart stop technology

Second, there is Toyota Safety Sense™ P, which comes with:

  • Dynamic radar cruise control
  • Lane departure alert with steering assist
  • Pre-collision system with pedestrian detection

The LE

Interior

All major changes in the LE trim are in the interior category, which now includes premium fabric-trimmed seating and front seatback pockets. Additionally, backseat passengers will have a center armrest with cup-holders.

Automatic climate control and keyless entry have also been added.

The LE ECO

Performance Specs

The standard engine is swapped out in the LE ECO for a 1.8L four-cylinder engine that has been optimized with valvematic technology. This enhancement boosts horsepower to 140 and mileage to 40 mpg highway and 30 mpg city.1

The XLE

Interior

Seating surfaces are upgraded to SofTex® trim in the XLE, with an eight-way power adjustable seat available for drivers. Both front seats are now heated, too.

Drivers can fire up the engine using the push-button start. Vehicle metrics will be displayed on the premium instrument cluster.

Media

The Entune™ suite is now upgraded to audio plus with connected navigation. This adds:

  • A seven-inch touchscreen
  • GPS
  • Traffic and weather reports
  • SiriusXM® satellite radio

The SE

Performance Specs

Unlike other Corolla trims, the SE includes a six-speed manual transmission. This reduces mileage slightly to 35 mpg highway and 27 mpg city.1

Interior

This level now includes SofTex® trimmed front sport seats with premium fabric inserts. A leather trimmed steering wheel with mounted controls and a sport instrument cluster have also been added.

The 50th Anniversary Special Edition

Performance Specs

For added driver choice, the 50th Anniversary Special Edition includes selectable normal and sport driving modes.

Interior

The SofTex® seating now includes Black Cherry contrast stitching. This stitching is also featured on rear seats, the steering wheel, and door trim.

A premium instrument cluster and 50th Anniversary Special Edition floor mats have also been included.

The XSE2017 toyota corolla trims

Interior

While the XSE lacks that Special Edition Black Cherry stitching, it does include all its other upgrades. It also raises the 50th Anniversary trim an eight-way power adjustable driver’s seat.
